Kunti Kulkarni was a mother of three, a well-educated woman in her late forties. She was born and brought up in a small town. She got married to a small-town family where most people, including her husband and in-laws, still held on to the regressive beliefs. She got married at the age of twenty-six and had her first baby girl the very next year.

Usually, a woman would celebrate such an event, and Kunti wanted the same. But neither her in-laws nor her husband was happy about it. One and a half years later, she gave birth to another female child. The second time experience was far worse than the first. Despite her wish not to have a third child - she conceived a third one. When Kunti was six months pregnant, her husband took her for Sonography. It was another girl.

The third time was the worst - her in-laws suggested feticide. Kunti couldn't let that happen and decided to part ways with her husband. She filed for a divorce, then went to her village. She started living with her parents and became a mother of three. Once the youngling grew five years old and started going to school, Kunti decided to bring some money into the house.

One year went by; she could not get a job. Kunti decided to move to a city that could offer her more opportunities. She had never lived alone, let alone in a mega city. It was terrifying initially, but her determination to be financially independent and provide for her girls kept her going. Over the next ten years, she became a social media marketing expert and raked in more money in a month than what her husband used to make in a year.

Being involved in social media, she had her accounts on all platforms. She would see pictures uploaded by her husband on Facebook. He has married again and had yet another two girls with her new wife. She knew the science behind the gender of a newborn and felt pity for her husband that he thought it was Kunti's fault and not his.

Kunti was proud of herself and of her daughters. They still lived in the village - the eldest was in twelfth standard. Kunti intended to invite them to live with her once they were old enough for college. She would have summoned the girls long before, but her mother kept telling her how busy she was with work and to let them remain with her until they were old enough. Everything had turned out well than she had imagined. The future looked bright for her and her daughters.

The only vacancy in her life was that of a partner she deserved.

It's the first time - I'm leaving the male character a mystery. The male could be a young boy or a mature man. He could even be a Muslim if you fancy interfaith. An alternate character sketch of Kunti could be of a woman who didn't succeed as much. She is barely getting by with her life. I'm open to suggestions or improvements, just like the idea.

Open for discussion in private.
